Sarah

It is official. For those of you that don't know...my sister, Sarah has a rare form of kidney disease. It is to the point that she needs a kidney transplant. She was officially put on the waiting list today. My brother, Matt, and I went to Methodist on Monday to do the necessary tests to see who, if either of us, will be a match to donate a kidney. We are hopeful that a family member will be a match and we won't have to worry about her waiting for a kidney on the list. We should find out in a week or so if either of us are compatible. If you would, please pray that we will quickly find a match so that she will still be in pretty good shape when they do the transplant. Also, Jonathan and I, along with the rest of my family, plan to organize a benefit for her and her family. She will have a long, unpaid leave from work after the transplant is over. If anyone is interested in helping or being a part of this in any way, just let me know. If not, it would be great for people to just show up. We hope to get this planned and underway soon...so details will follow soon. If nothing else, please just say a prayer that everything goes smoothly during this process. Thanks...love all of you.

Keep me informed and I will have it on the radio. Maybe you can come in and talk about it when you have plans set. We can possibly do something at the outreach on the 24th also. Just let me know. I am here to help.

Hey, I hear that Bren isn't feeling well, right when Chase is finally doing good (he was a lot of fun at the ball park tonight!). Hope she gets over it quickly.

That is great that you are matches. My sister (younger by 18 months) needed a bone marrow transplant. I am the oldest of 7 and we found out that five matched someone but that the two oldest didn't match anyone ( my sister and myself were the unmatchables).
All family members then tried. Well the national marrow donor found a match and come August 28 iss my sister's re-birth. This year it will be 5 years. My sister had stage IV Non-hodgkin's Lymphoma. Know that there is always a way.
